Highly Acclaimed Chinese Contemporary Art Guru, Wang Yigang To Hold First Solo Exhibition In Singapore.
Wang Yigang, renowned for his provoking and impactful style, is well sought after by auction houses and collectors both in Asia and many other parts of the world today. Although he is now a well-established veteran in Chinese
Contemporary Art, he remains the humble guy with a passion to impart knowledge and skills to the younger generation. Despite his heavy travel schedule due to holding many exhibitions around the world, he continues to set aside time to groom talents at the Academy. For his invaluable contribution to Chinese Contemporary Art, he was presented with “The Outstanding Contribution to Contemporary Art Award” by US Asian Cultural Academy (UACA) in 2007. He will be presenting his latest works at his first solo exhibition in Singapore titled "This is not Chinese landscape" from 4-9 December 2008.

About Wang Yigang's "This is not Chinese Landscape" Collection:
Wang Yigang's Chinese Landscape Painting series from 2007 feature three repeatedly used elements: classic Chinese landscapes, bodies and commodities. However, these three elements do not synergise harmoniously with one another. Instead, they conflict with one another to send across a strong message that Chinese culture has been influenced by contemporary life and society. But putting the fashionable pictures and Chinese landscape together, there are scenes of disturbed visuality and impact which makes his collection more interesting and provoking.
