The Inter-Pacific Bar Association ("IPBA") 2010 Conference will be held in Singapore from May 2 to 5.

For the 2010 IPBA Conference in Singapore, the Organising Committee has picked “Climate Change and Legal Practice” as the Conference Theme. Climate Change, in the form of global warming, is one of the most serious challenges, if not the most serious challenge, that the world will face in the 21st century. It will significantly change the way business is done and will create both new challenges as well as new opportunities in many areas of legal practice.

“Climate Change and Legal Practice” is a theme which is both current and broad enough to encompass many of the discussion sessions that will take place during the Conference.

Through many discussions the conference seek to highlight the implication and impact of this serious global challenge on the legal field and profession. Conference highlights will include a keynote speech by Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore his latest topic “Thinking Green: Economic Strategy for the 21st Century".

The Inter-Pacific Bar Association ("IPBA") is an international association of business and commercial lawyers with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. Members are either Asia-Pacific residents or have a strong interest in this part of the world. The IPBA was founded in April 1991 at an organising conference held in Tokyo attended by more than 500 lawyers from throughout Asia and the Pacific. Since this time, it has grown to become a pre-eminent organisation in the area of Asia law and business with a membership of approximately 2,000 lawyers from 67 jurisdictions around the world.
