Symphony Stage, Singapore Botanic Gardens Singapore Botanic Gardens’ Green Generation Concert Here is a meaningful concert in the park! The Green Generation Concert, which will showcase “youth ambassadors” from STOMP, aims to raise awareness for the need for conservation. All generations will enjoy Singapore Botanic Gardens’ Green Generation Concert being held at the Symphony Stage on Friday, June 5th 2009, from 6:30pm. Admission to this event is free and it’s open to all. Featuring a mixture of performances from local secondary schools and other home-grown talents, the Green Generation Concert aims to spread the message of conservation to young people; to inspire and empower them to make a difference for the future. The event will also feature short student-produced plays and competitions as well as family-oriented fringe activities. This concert features world-renowned primatologist, Dr Jane Goodall as keynote speaker. Amongst other talents featured on an environmentally friendly line-up, concert-goers will meet Ms Earth Singapore, enjoy green hip-hop from DanceFuzion, and marvel at Chestnut Drive Secondary School’s “Stomp” performance using recycled materials as instruments. The event, which is part of Singapore Botanic Garden’s 150th anniversary celebrations, is organised in conjunction with the Jane Goodall Institute of Singapore. As an added treat on the evening, Guest of Honour Dr. Jane Goodall, the internationally renowned conservationist, will deliver a talk and share her environmental insight. In honour of the evening, they would like to cordially invite you to the Green Generation Concert! You are free to bring your own picnic food, water bottle, a comfortable mat and an umbrella lest it rains (the show will go on rain or shine!).
