The enemy forces are often fragmented and unpredictable in their actions. With technological growth and thinking enemies, militaries are investing in higher level of protection system for their soldiers’ survivability. These technological advances are influential, as the traditionally steeled vehicles are no longer sufficient given the invention of anti-armour weaponry which shortens the lifecyle of armoured vehicles.

However, while the importance of armoured vehicles is indisputable, military has to weigh the balance between ease of mobility, cost, design and operations challenges to maximise the capability of armour system. Given the complexity in armoured vehicle, it is a necessity for militaries to have strong fundamentals on the current armour protection principles and the available options.

During the 3-day course, participants will be introduced to the applications of protection principles, including their effectiveness and realibility. The course will cover modules to deepen understanding on the standards and procedures to qualify and verify protection capabilities.

Participants will gain insights to the lifecycle of armoured vehicle protection kits and the feasibility for upgrades, replacements or modifications. The trainer will also be sharing on protection requirements against vehicle performance. Case studies will be used in discussions to ensure practicality and further understanding of the training modules.
