Archifest 08-Man And EnvironmentThe festival is a public event packed with architecture-related activities and happenings in which all are welcome to participate. The theme "Man + Environment" provides a focus for Archifest 08, as the stage is set for us to re-examine the relationship between architecture and the environment. This complex relationship encompasses context, genius loci, history, culture, economics, and technology to the growing concern about the role of architecture in the degradation of our environment. With clear and present issues facing many countries all over the world, Archifest 08 aims to present the challenges in balancing man's needs and the environment.

Architours is also a chance for youths to step forward and take control, to remind them that no voice and no action is too small and that taking the initiative is the first step.

Archifest 08-Man And EnvironmentOrganized by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA), Archifest 08's main events will be featured at the festival hub at the National Library Building on Victoria Street. Archifest 08 is an initiative supported and co-funded under the Architecture and Urban Design Excellence (A•UDE) Promotion Programme by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), and is sponsored by BlueScope Steel and Johnson Suisse Bathroom Solutions.
