What public transport is available to get to the airport?

Ans: The MaxiCab airport shuttle offers a sheduled service with flexible routing to almost all hotels within the city (excluding hotels on Sentosa and Le Meridien Changi). Alighting points are flexible and any destination within the Central Business District is catered to including MRT stations. The 6-seater MaxiCab has wheel-chair accessible features and luggage room. The shuttle operates from 9am to 11pm at frequencies of 30 minutes during off peak hours (9am to 6pm) and 15 minutes during peak hours (6pm to 11pm). Tickets cost SGD 7 for adults and SGD 5 for children. Bookings are made at the airport shuttle counters and payment made to the MaxiCab driver. For more information, call CityCab at tel: (65) 6553 3880.

From the city centre, the MRT ride to the Changi Airport station is only 27 minutes. The train service from the Changi Airport station operates at an average frequency of 12 minutes and its service hours can be found here.

Another option is SBS bus 36 from Orchard Road. The fares range from SGD 0.8 to SGD 1.70, depending on where you are. However, this bus has no specialised facility or space for luggage.

Taxis are plentiful in Singapore and you can easily catch a taxi to your hotel or the airport. However, there is a surcharge for taxis hired from the airport.

Lastly, there are limousine services at the airport. Look out for the counters in the arrival hall.
